Hailee & Topher
Full disclosure in case you didn’t already know: I am a MASSIVE Legend of Zelda fan. So, naturally, when Hailee and Topher told me they were planning on having a Legend of Zelda inspired engagement shoot at Belfountain Conservation Area, I was pretty much over the moon excited. Literally, I have been looking forward to this shoot for months and months and months. Every time I would chat with Hailee before the shoot about what she was planning, I was getting more and more stoked for this day. And when the day finally came, it was the most beautiful June evening we could’ve asked for. Hailee and Topher slayeddd this whole shoot, gosh I really couldn’t have asked for a more amazing or cooler couple to do a shoot like this with. These two were just EPIC. And on top of their awesome Legend of Zelda theme, they had so many adorable little moments between them that just made capturing these photos even more fun.
They also brought their absolutely adorable dog Switch for a bunch of shots of the three of them which made this whole evening EVEN better. So ps, if you want to bring your dog along for your engagement shoot then YES do it! I adore engagement sessions that have your dog joining in on the fun too. Also, I really want to give a HUGE thank you to their amazing friend Katie for tagging along and wrangling Switch when he wasn’t in the photos. So ps again, if you’re bringing your dog along you can also bring along a dog wrangler friend hahah
They also brought along a real life replica Master Sword. WHAT. So Freaking Cool. And it made for sick ring detail shots of Hailee’s awesome LoZ engagement ring.
The Belfountain Conservation Area was the most perfect setting for these Legend of Zelda engagement photos because it honestly felt like a real world version of the setting in the game. The gorgeous forests and sloping hills sprinkled with moss and little blue forget-me-nots all over the place, the beautiful waterfall and suspension bridge hanging above it, and the stunning water fountain backlit with the golden setting sun. Aw man I could go on and on about how perfect a setting this was.
Speaking of the water fountain, just want to give a huge shoutout to Hailee and Topher for being hella brave and stepping into the water at the very end of our shoot for some final epic shots to wrap up the evening. The water temp was freezing but they braved the frigid cold, seriously these two were incredible throughout the entire shoot. INCREDIBLE. And dang, I know that their wedding this fall is going to be even more epic.
